Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I am a committee chair of a Cub Scout Pack 3376 in Brooklyn NY. I have a parent who is unable to access their old scouting.org account and the e-mail address attached to the account. He has created a new account on scouting.org.
Can you please review and merge. We got confirmation from GNYC that they updated the e-mail address but the parent is still unable to get in.
Old e-mail address is: (removed by Moderator)
New e-mail address is: (removed by Moderator)
Thanks in advance.

@MattR.Pack3376 The user has sign in with Google turned on, which means that he needs to sign in by clicking on the sign in with Google button, using his Google name (old e-mail address), and his Google password (for the old e-mail address).
If he no longer has access to the old e-mail account, then he will need to ask the local council to submit a help ticket on his behalf to turn off the sign in with Google. After sign in with Google has been turned off, then the password can be reset.
@TravisTaylor2 I have merged this user’s Scoutbook accounts. However, the local council will need to fix his “Relationships” using their Registrar Tools.
MID 5511003 is connected to as son to first initial R MID 122606053 and B**y MID 13829699 (both Bay-Lakes Council). These connections appear to be bad. He may need to contact Bay-Lakes Council to get them straightened out.
The connections on MID 13837199 appear correct but should be verified.
@TravisTaylor2 I have merged this user’s Scoutbook accounts.
However, he will need to contact the local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up his Scout (or Scouts). In the “Relationships” tab / section, he should be listed as parent only under his primary member ID number: 14721282.
If the PII matches between the scouter’s two Member IDs, the scouter should be able to do this themselves in my.scouting under Manage Member ID.
The SUAC team can’t create the parent/guardian-to-scout connection in the database. One of the Unit Key 3 can do this once the parent’s Member IDs are correctly under management in my.scouting.
Hi, Merge request of adult leader and son’s account please! Hope someone can help! Thanks so much!
Adult leader ID: 141512126
Boy Scouts ID: 141512131
Apparently I have opened one account for myself and another account for my son. Recently I have renewed my son’s annual membership under his own account 141512131 and its new expiration date is 01/31/2027
I noticed under my own account 141512126 , my son annual membership has not been updated and it is going to expire on 01/31/2026 and is asking for auto renewal. I believe the system is going to charge us the full membership fee very soon.
Can any of you please take a look into this and fix the issues? Thanks a lot!
@PeterFu@SeanaShanks-Plasman MIDs cannot be merged - only managed - if it is a scoutbook user issue that is where we can help.
the user can log into my.scouting.org > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > as long as the info is the same then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY. If it fails SUAC can help as all the personal Info has to match. Another complication with this is the Parent relationship for registrations with is tied to Member ID - it is best to ask Council to also check that.
@PeterFu yours it is best to start a talk with council registrar as payments are involved and renewals
