Merge Member number request

T145 Committee Chair has been unable to merge member numbers 136813135 and135380999. Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

This is fixed in Scoutbook @NancyHodgkiss

@DonovalMcNeil - are you able to review BSA ID 137328900 in scoutbook. ALL of his data was removed and somehow some of the mom’s information is crossed up with his ID. Previously BSA ID 135041017 & 137328900 were merged and working fine, this happened as part of the recharter process and I’m looking to figure our what exactly was botched and how to fix.

@Casey I think it is parent playing with accounts - I think I have restored it for you

Thanks - I had a suspicion that was the case. It looks like he’s established himself as a “parent” to himself… can the “parent” account with his name initials (E.F) be completely removed?

@Casey it is the same user - I can kind of clear it

We just wish we could figure out HOW this happens

I’m sorry - but I discovered a few more that the same thing happened (same family, but the Cub Scout unit):

Please remove E.F as parent for these three siblings in the Cub pack:
137476590
137329056
137329066

Are you also able to re-establish mom, KF 137328901 as parent on EF’s account for the Troop 137328900 ?

@Casey all is done for you

@DonovanMcNeil Thank you for the quick service. As always your assistance is very much appreciated.

@DonovanMcNeil - Today I noticed that when I send a message, the mom (K.F) doesn’t appear on the list of parents to send the message to. The father appears but has opted out of emails, so that’s not useful. Any idea why this would happen?

137476590
137329056
137329066

@Casey she had no email - I entered it

I may have the same issue. We have a parent who has taken YPT under BSA ID 12914353. He has recently registered as troop leader but got a new member ID 14139994. He sent me this question:

Can you tell me how I can bring the data over to the new Membership?

@MHTroop511KDC user can log into my.scouting.org > click Menu top left > Click Manage Member ID > one of the BSA # will be there marked PRIMARY > then add the other MID (BSA #) - you want to make the one that is your unit registration PRIMARY > Then go to Scoutbook.com and log in using your my.scouting.org credentials

@MHTroop511KDC Does this parent / leader have a Scout with the same name?

Not the same name. He has two Scouts:

B Troop - 137355856
G Troop - 14052458

I approved him as ASM for the G Troop.

@MHTroop511KDC I found another BSA member number with his name, but older Scout’s date of birth. I will see if I can fix.

Thanks. When I viewed his parent profile in Scoutbook, I see BSA ID 137222487. His user ID is 11763443.

@MHTroop511KDC This should be cleaned up now.

He has 2 my.scouting user names. I would recommend retiring the one that is the e-mail address.

Edited to add: Ask him to log in with his my.scouting user name, and I will request that the other user name (the one that is an e-mail address) be retired.

I will let him know. Thank you.
