Merge Parent Scoutbook Accounts

@TreMcQueen

You must be a registered leader in order to be the Unit Advancement Chair. You need to fill out an adult application and it needs to be processed before you can be connected to any Scouts other than your own.

I see 2 active Scoutbook accounts, one with a hotmail address and the other with gmail. Which e-mail address do you want to use? I’ll be able to merge these accounts once I know the desired e-mail address.

I recently registered as a leader with our troop, but the process created a second id for me in the process. I’m hoping to get my accounts merged.

Older id (as a parent to my scout): 110155502
New id (as registered leader): 14058994
I can switch between the two in the β€œManage Member Id” screen because they use the same name and email.

Thanks for your patience as I learn how scouting has changed in the last 30 years.

@BrianZuzga I merged the two scoutbook account and included the new member number in the profile. Make sure that is set to primary in manage member ID, and you should be good to go.

I have a parent with two accounts to be merged:

BSA Member #: 13692867, UserID: 11606188 (incorrect spelling of last name, correct email address)

BSA Member #: 136701607, UserID: 10813298 (correct spelling, should use the same email address as above)

Thanks!

@JeffColwander

This is fixed. The user should log into Scoutbook with the my.scouting.org ID that is

I recommend contacting your Council and asking them to retire MID 13692867 since it has the name misspelled and there are no registrations attachedl.

Please let me know if you need more info and thanks in advance for the help!

Thank you for the information. Just to clarify, is the Unit Advancement Chair the correct position to enter Scouts’ advancements other than my own child? When I was an assistant Den Leader, I had the same problem where I couldn’t complete the advancements for scouts other than my own child.

Please use the tremcqueen@gmail.com address.

The Unit Advancement Chair is a functional role for a registered committee member, which generally has duties of tracking and awarding advancement for the entire unit.

To mark advancement Complete, Leader Approved, or Awarded in Scoutbook, an adult has to have at least Edit Advancement permissions for each scout for whom they intend to manage advancement. However, to be assigned these permissions for any scout other than their own, an adult must be a registered scouter. That is why @edavignon noted that you need to submit an adult application, complete YPT and at least one background check (some chartering organizations and/or jurisdictions, like mine, require their own in addition to the BSA checks).

Charley,

Thanks for replying. How can I tell if I am a β€œregistered scouter.” I was an assistant den leader last year, my YPT is current, and I assume they did a background check last year when I was an assistant den leader. We transferred packs over the summer, though.

@TreMcQueen you can go to my.scouting.org and look at My Profile - top right corner - then registrations. But if you are in a new pack and did not turn in a new Adult Leader app you are not a leader
