Messages and invites in Scoutbook Plus are not going to all parents /guardians. Event invite shows all parents but the emails are not going through. Tried to send a message to a Scout and only one parent is selected automatically when the scout is selected. I verified the connections in the connections tab for the scout. I checked a few scouts and only one parent is getting selected. Please advise.
A little additional information can help with diagnosis:
- If you provide scout member IDs (no names please!) for whom this is occurring, together with
- The events for which this is observed to be occurring
The SUAC might also need to know which parent(s) for each scouts aren’t getting the messages, but that might end up with combinations of member IDs that become insecure. I’ll defer to SUAC on whether they need that information, too.
@MicheleKarver- are the parents listed on the scout profile at advancements.scouting.org which is where your work should be done and NOT legacy socutbook.
@MicheleKarver connections in Legacy Scoutbook no longer matter. The parents have to be in relationship with the scout
Unit leaders can see these:
On the Scout Profile page in SB+ (advancements.scouting.org) > on the left side > Relationships > the parent(s) in relationship would be listed there
Under Reports on left grey side of SB+ Roster > New Roster Builder > you can make a list with PG Relationships to show all scouts and parents in relationship.
If parents do not show in these places Key 3 would need to add them with the + under the relationship area mentioned above on the Scouts Profile

Both parents were receiving messages and event reminders in December. Mom stopped getting messages in January. Went to messages and when I click on the youth, Dad gets selected automatically. Mom does not. I checked another scout- same problem.

Stephen and Donovan both raised issues I hadn’t caught.
suggests you’re looking at classic SB not the parent/guardian connections in SB+. Only the parents/guardians connected in SB+ get the automatic email.
@MicheleKarver yeah that one is troublesome - yes the father and mother are both in relationship. But Council needs to help to start with. The Father is both father of WM and son of MW - which can cause issues.
But I will also take another look at it

Yes. I checked here to verify that there was a problem that we identified in the calendar module

@MicheleKarver looking at your permissions - I am guessing you are just going to and working in Legacy Scoutbook - scoutbook.scouting.org - is that where you clicked Messages?
Dad identified a problem in the calendar. I checked connections in SB legacy and in SB Plus. Both showed 2 parents connected to the scout. I attempted to send a message to the scout in SB Plus. When I check the box next to the Scout’s name, Dad’s name was also selected. Mom’s name did not get selected.

@MicheleKarver and on the Scout profile the mom does not say “Pending” or something under relationships?
Mom’s name does appear in SB and SB plus. She was his Den Leader in cubs. Dad was the CubMaster. They have been connected and receiving messages and event invitations and reminders for years.
We just did a minor fix to see if it works. What is the other parent (for other scout) having a same thing happen Member ID?
@MicheleKarver see if that first mom works now when selecting scout in Messages
@MicheleKarver- i would also point out the events do not send out invites. It is only when you set up reminders that someone gets an email about a calendar event
I recognize that. I would prefer that emails go out when an event is created too, but that is another issue. Dad got the reminder for an event , mom did not. Our registrar saw an incomplete sync so I’m waiting 24 hours to see if that resolved anything.
