Need assistance merging my accounts

I am getting error message “the provided member ID does not match the existing user profile” after trying to merge my 2 accounts. It may be because I am Elizabeth in one and Beth in another. I would like to keep Beth Oloffson and the number one account as primary, and add the other. Thank you for your help, Beth

When I log in, it says “someone else is using this email address.”

  1. First account, all of my training is completed under this: 140402208 for my.scouting.org
  2. Second account, the roster and den specific is under this: Scoutbook user ID 13708288, and BSA Member ID 140928787.

@BethOloffson

Your primary BSA Member ID must be 140928787 because this is where you are registered and has your legal name. All of your training will move to this ID once we merge your accounts.

You can keep either my.scouting.org ID. Would you prefer the one that is your e-mail address or the one that is not your e-mail address. Both were used to login today.

  1. the email address one. Thanks so much for getting this sorted.
    2, Unrelated, my son’s birthdate is incorrect in the system.

@BethOloffson

I’ll work on merging your accounts.

You need to contact your Council to fix your son’s birthdate.

@BethOloffson

Your accounts are fixed. It may take a few hours to merge your training.

When you contact your Council to fix your son’s DOB, ask them to use the Relationships Tab of Registrar Tools to connect your son to MID 140928787

Parent & Den Leader, BSA# 13968379, can see her scouts, but not her Den. I’m pretty sure she has another account that needs to be merged. Can you please check for another “leader” account for her? Username that she wants to keep is firstinitial +lastnames .

@JillBarr

I found 2 BSA Member IDs for her but neither is a registered leader. Please check your roster at my.scouting.org to see if she is registered and provide that Member ID.

@JillBarr she does not appear to be a registered leader - have Key 3 check the official my.scouting.org roster

@JillBarr I found a third BSA member ID number for her: 140617040.

It shows as expired: 09/30/2024 and eligible to renew.

@JenniferOlinger is 140617040 a registered leader account?

@JillBarr Yes, but it is showing as expired / lapsed. It is odd, because it should be in the grace period.

@JenniferOlinger I assume since it’s “expired”, that account cannot be merged. Can you give us any hints for the username to help me get her logged into that account to renew it (and then we can revisit the merging issue)?

She logged into account yesterday - she will need to fully reapply to be a leader

She should be within the grace period, though. It just expired 7 days ago.

Did her YPT expire? Michigan Crossroads Council immediately suspends all leaders when their YPT expires.

@JillBarr I have merged her Scoutbook accounts.

Please ask the local council to use their Registrar Tools to look up her children. In the “Relationships” tab / section, she needs to be removed as parent under her secondary BSA member ID numbers, then she needs to be added as parent under her primary BSA member ID number: 140617040. This will help to prevent future issues.

It looks like she renewed her YPT under BSA 13968379. Her training should get copied onto her primary MID within 24 hours.

@JenniferOlinger THANKS!! Can you let me know the 2nd “old” BSA ID that you found? (So I can be sure to have all the info when we call council.)

@JillBarr It usually works best if the council looks up the children. They need to remove her as parent under any secondary BSA member ID numbers. Then add her as parent under her primary.
