Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
To Whomever It May Concern:
I have a Scout & his father that are both having different issues with logging into Scoutbook. It appears that the son has 2 accounts, one without a BSA ID #, and one with his BSA ID # 134043416. However, on the one that does not have his BSA ID# (which is the one I see in ScoutBook) I click on his fathers name, then click edit profile & it connects to his sons account. The father is our Treasurer, and was rechartered last year, but now, I can not find him in our troop roster. The father is no longer able to login to Scout book. My feeling is we may need to have a more private detailed conversation to resolve this strange issue.
Thank you,

thank you, let me know if you need anything else.
I know the email address that should be used for the father, and should not be on the son’s account. But I know not to put that in here now.
@DonovanMcNeil - The Account for the scout seems to be good now. When I try to Edit Profile for the father, it does not let me in. He is also still not listed in our Troop Roster. Can you give me the father’s BSA ID# so that I can connect him to the Roster as our Treasurer.
Thank you,

The BSA ID for the adult should appear in the official roster at my.scouting, which as SM you should be able to access. If the adult’s name does not yet appear there, then they have not yet registered (or their registration has not yet been completed) with the BSA. Adults can’t be assigned leader roles in Scoutbook until they appear on the official roster at my.scouting.
ETA: In principle, the adult should automatically appear on the Scoutbook roster a day or two after having appeared on the official my.scouting roster. If that hasn’t happened, the SUAC folks might be able to investigate why.
@DonovanMcNeil - Thank you. He was paid & reregisterred last year. He has been our Treasurer for over a year now. Our Commitee Chair double checked. As we are doing the recharter now, and hope to complete 2023 by end of week.
I remember that he was in the system during the first half of last year, because he was having different issues then
Can you help on why he is not showing as registered?
Unless @DonovanMcNeil finds a duplicate account, the reason he doesn’t show as registered is because he isn’t. The way for the troop to confirm live is the roster on my.scouting.
I looked under my.scouting, and he is no longer there. However, as I said, he was. Could what he did and getting his son & his account messed up, be the issue he is no longer showing?
I’d also double check that the total paid actually matches what should have been paid based on the number of members. I’ve seen cases where someone was on the recharter paperwork but not actually paid for because the total added up to one more than the people listed.
