I am the advancement chair for my District. I am specifically leaving out identifying details, so please reach out to me for those. In my District we have a unit that folded on 12/31/2024. The Scout did not transfer to another unit at that time, for reasons I cannot post here. The Troop used Scoutbook for their advancement. Because the unit is defunct, and there are no active leaders, I have no way of getting partial merit badge records for one specific Scout that wishes to rejoin and hopefully finish up the Eagle rank. Our Council Registrar only has access to this Scouts completed badges.
Normally, we would just register the Scout with another unit, and the records would repopulate under the new unit. However this is a case of this Scout having already turned age 18, and they will only re-register if they are approved for a time extension. I do believe we have sufficient cause for that to be approved. I state this because they cannot just re-register unless the extension is approved. Getting the partial records for 4 merit badges, is part of the evidence needed in the extension request.
Please advise as to who I need to contact, or if the Registrar can raise a ticket get this Scout’s partial merit badge data. I do have the Council info, the Troop info, the Scouts MID number and obviously name and DOB if needed. Thanks!
