I have a new scout, their parent accepted the invitation to connect to their scout via Scoutbook. The parent, 140693729, now has access to the entire pack as if they were in a leadership position. I do not see them as a leader via scoutbook or in my.scouting.org. They were not invited as a leader, did not fill out leader application, were not accepted via any process. How did they end up with pack access? And how do we get rid of it?
@JasonRoma - what kind of access is shown for this parent. In our pack I set up parents with view only to other scouts. This helps with messages in the pack for instance if that parent is leading a fundraising or other activity.
That BSA number is only connected to their scouts in Scoutbook and that is all - in 802 TAC
You can hopefully see the screen shot I have uploaded showing the parents permissions as i see them. In terms of “setting up” permissions i did nothing. The parent registered their scout, recieved a welcome email inviting them to connect to their scout, and now the parent has full access to the entire pack. Not something we wanted to happen or to happen again.
@JasonRoma - this is only related to their scout. Please look at the unit roster in scoutbook then > connection manager at the bottom
A parent will ALWAYS have full control on THEIR scout
Parents are given Full Control of their scout - the parent is not connected to any other scout
Parent is not in the connection manager. The parent is not a leader. Happy to screenshare but i believe the problem is not visible from within my account.
@JasonRoma I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
My mistake, I found the parent in the permission manager. The parent only has a green dot in their childs column. But when they log into Scoutbook they see the whole pack and all the scouts.
Yes they will see all scouts First name last initial - but they cannot click on any scout
