Not able to join unit roster, unable to create events

Not able to join the Unit roster, click the “I agree to join to join the leader roster”, nothing happens - will not save/update. Council and National is unable to resolve as they can not find the issue.

Not able to create events, even though SB shows troop and patrol admin.

Unable to set current troop default position switch the toggle, but the change will not save/update

Are you a youth or an adult? What is your position in the unit? Are you logging in with your email address or your my scouting.org credentials?

Also, have you verified that your BSA ID in your Scoutbook account matches the one in the unit’s official roster at my.scouting.org? You may need to talk to one of the unit key 3 (CM/SM, CC, COR) in order to have them check the official roster.

Are you a youth or an adult? Adult

What is your position in the unit? Asst. Scoutmaster

Are you logging in with your email address or your my scouting.org credentials? Using single sign on username

Also, have you verified that your BSA ID in your Scoutbook account matches the one in the unit’s official roster at my.scouting.org? Yes, and verified with council.

You may need to talk to one of the unit key 3 (CM/SM, CC, COR) in order to have them check the official roster. >I am on the official roster as verified at the council office and by council with national. The council put me in functional roles as a key 3 delegate so I could perform the actions needed. Even though I have a green check mark and on the official roster per BSA, I am unable to join the roster via scoutbook and update my default positions. Even though positions in scoutbook state key 3 delegate, unit advancement, troop admin, patrol admin, I am unable to create events.

The default position toggle doesn’t really do anything except allow you to choose which position patch you would like to display in Scoutbook.

I would ask a Troop Admin to reset your Troop Admin role. Here’s how:

  1. The Troop Admin goes to the Troop Roster page in Scoutbook.
  2. Clicks on your name.
  3. Clicks on your Troop Admin role.
  4. Makes sure the box is checked next to “position approved”.
  5. Clicks Update.

You will need to log out of Scoutbook, and then log back in. You might also need to clear your browser cache and cookies.

The resets have been done many times. The green “position approved” check mark is there on each role.

@Baker3 In Scoutbook, when you go to:

My Dashboard → Administration

Does the troop for which you are a Troop Admin have the circle A symbol next to it?

Yes, it does show that everything is synced properly

Still in need of assistance

Hrm…If you post your BSA ID, the folks from SUAC may be able to look at the account to see if there’s something odd on the back end (where we as regular folks can’t look).

ETA: Also, I’m assuming you’ve tried using an incognito/private browsing window, different browsers, etc to rule out an add-on or some issue with cached information?

Yes, different browser, different computers, private/ not private. Have tried them all.

Still in need of assistance.

Ok, sounds like the SUAC likely needs your BSA ID (or maybe Scoutbook User ID would do) to research it further.

@Baker3 Your account looks OK based on what I can see. Next step might be to set up a screen share with you.

@JenniferOlinger - okay, sounds good.

Issue still not resolved

@Baker3 I sent you a private message for more information.

Issue still unresolved -

No response to private message reply.

Sent a followup private message today. It would be great to get this resolved prior to recharter.
