What is the reasoning behind not having scouts calendar events?

OK, that I understand. In the past, it’s been explained that allowing youth members to access some features would require a substantial re-write of how Scoutbook handles account permissions.
We work around this limitation in our Troop by having an adult “Webmaster” account that is shared by the PLC members. It’s configured as a committee secretary, and has view advancement and view profle set for all the unit members. This lets the PLC manage the calendar, run reports, and send messages through Scoutbook. It’s not a perfect fit, but it works.
