Last week I was able to update my son’s OA election date. He completed Ordeal this past weekend. I don’t know where to add his Ordeal Date. Where do I go?

@HughWelch - it is in the same place as the election date in edit profile

Good Evening: I’m trying to update a scout’s MID (14802529) election and ordeal dates in their profile, but I’ve been getting the following error for the past couple of weeks:

“Whoops! Looks like we encountered an issue temporarily. Please try again later.”

Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

@P.L most likely as you are an ASM - it is a bug being looked into

You could likely ask one of your unit Key 3, Key 3 Delegates or Scoutbook Units Admins to update it to see if one of them has issues. That might indicate that it’s something other than the ASM issue that Donovan noted.

Hi, I asked to a different unit leader and for this scout MID: 14802529, and the same issue appear/remains. No way to update the scout’s profile with the Order of the Arrow Ordeal details. Any update with the known bug? Thanks.

@P.L Could you try logging all the way out, then log back in again?

And after you log back in to Scoutbook Plus, do a hard page reload SHIFT + reload.

Is the other unit scouter one of the Unit Key 3 (CC, COR, SM) or a Key 3 Delegate assigned in the position manager at my.scouting?

I ask because I’m not seeing any issues editing my scouts’ Ordeal date in SB+, and I’m an ASM with the Key 3 Delegate functional role.

I did as incognito, hard page reload and the error remains.

@P.L The Scout had a duplicate Scoutbook account, but I merged them. Not sure what’s causing the error.

A scouter from Unit Key 3 (SM) tried to add the details and the error appeared too. Any guidance on what to do next? Thank you.

I’d probably look at two possibilities. One is what the status of the youth registration is (i.e. current, in the grace period after expiring, expired and out of grace period) in my.scouting and the other is the potential that there’s a cached version of SB+ that’s causing issues. For the latter, I’d try forcing a refresh of the page, clearing cache and/or clearing all stored data associated with advancements.scouting.org (in that order, testing in between) to see if those resolve the issue. The fact that it’s working for me but not for y’alls Key 3 suggests an issue that’s not hitting everyone. Most often (but not always) those are local somehow (e.g. stale cache data).

I did everything: hard refresh, incognito, cleared cache, and even signed up from two different laptops. The error message still appears..

Hrm, @DonovanMcNeil @JenniferOlinger, any other thoughts? If it were just the OP, I’d think it was the ASM bug. Since their SM also tried, it suggests it’s not the ASM bug (although I guess it could still be the SM’s cache + the ASM bug for the OP?).

Hi again, I’m also seeing the same error for a second Scout, MID 13503399. When I tried to enter swimming classification and date of test, the system shows:Error: input validation failed. Could you please confirm whether this issue is something I should follow up on with council, Akela? Thank you.

What date are you trying to enter? Are you selecting the date from the calendar or typing the date into the field?

For MID: 14802529 OA election date and OA Ordeal Date. I tried both:selecting the date from the calendar and before this reply, typing the date into the field and the same error appears.

For MID: 13503399 Swimming classification and swimming classification date.
