Pack Admin loses access 1 month before Registration Expires

Hi
We have pack admins in our Pack, and we have noticed that they are not able to continue with their usual tasks when their renewal is more than 1 month away
Here is an example:
My registration expires 12/31/25, yet as of last week 10/28/25 I haven’t been able to create or edit calendar events, or even view any scouts apart from those in my Den.

Unit key 3 should see these See Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video.

I have the same issue - I am the only one that handles the data management and I can’t do anything easily. We don’t renew online so it will be a while before any scouts can “earn” anything. It seems line a poor setup.

@JamesDuffy you should be able to achieve all that is needed with your Pack Admin position over the next few weeks. What are you seeing on your screen?

@JamesDuffy

If you do all of the data management, one of your Key 3 members should log in to my.scouting.org and make you a Key 3 Delegate so that you have all the permissions you could possibly need in Scoutbook Plus.

Note neither Scoutbook nor Scoutbook Plus are design for this use model. They are both designed for multiple leaders to be doing data entry/management.

Our COR assigned our SPL & ASPL the Functional Role for Create Messages. The renewal date for both of these scouts is 12/31/2025. They are listed under “Not Counted”. Does this mean they have the rights or not? BSA IDs 14636866 13640338

@JillBarr unless your unit is Beta - Messages is not yet live. Those are also Adults in the Adult selection form for Functional Roles - those are not youth.

For Youth go to > Position/Roles Permissions tab at top > the Messages (Youth)

Another example. Last person listed, BSA 13041838 does not expire until 03/31/2026.

@JillBarr - hmmmm - ok that is reported

It is very finnicky
it wouldn’t work for 2 weeks, then today with no changes on our end I was able to make changes, then this evening my access reset again and I lost privileges.
