Parent can't connect to their scout - not sure how to fix

I have parent who can’t accept an invite to see their scout’s account. I just used the “invite” option on the parent’s page in Scoutbook. They are getting an “error occurred, contact leadership” message. Can someone help?

@WilliamShipman1 - if the parent can log into scoutbook they can go to their account then their connections and click on the red text seen there:
