Parent Can't Renew - Merge Needed?

Parent attempted to renew Scout and got the error message: “You are not allowed to proceed with renewal.”

Elsewhere, this appears to have been resolved by the SUAC folks through some sort of merge. Hoping you can assist.

@DaveMorris that parent did submit a renewal - First guess is the unit did not accept it so now it is out of the renewal window. A New application will be needed. Talk to council. Maybe check Application manager and see if it is still there

Thanks! That’s odd since we are (supposedly) setup to automatically accept youth and I haven’t seen anything in the queue. Will check with Council now.

I’ve got another that just came in with the same error, but not yet expired:

Parent: 140634194
Scout: 140874304

Any thoughts?

That Parent and Scout are not connected and do not have similar names.

Please check the numbers. The names do not match and they are not in the same Council.

@DaveMorris The parent has 3 member ID numbers:

  • 140634193 - council 104
  • 13795988
  • 137237164

Please ask him to log all the way out, then log back in again at my.Scouting.

I would recommend that he double-check his preferred e-mail address at my.Scouting.

I would also recommend that he contact the local council and ask them to use their Registrar Tools to look up his child (or children). In the “Relationships” tab / section, they should remove him as parent under his secondary member ID numbers. He should only be listed as parent under his primary member ID number: 140634193. This will help to prevent future issues.

Thanks 104 is correct as primary. Parent was military and registered as a leader with his oldest a couple years ago before the younger scout joined our Pack. Always have trouble with those registrations.

@DaveMorris It should be fixed except for the parent / child “Relationships” (in my.Scouting). Councils can fix those with their Registrar Tools.
