Hi, I have a scout (BSA ID: 14590324) who I sent a Scoutbook invite to Dad not knowing that he already had an account. Now his accounts are messed up. Dad’s original BSA ID is 140782492. The new profile errors out and I cannot see a BSA ID for that. Can you connect Dad (ID 140782492) to scout (BSA ID: 14590324)? Dad’s Name should be the same.
Thank you
@SarahFrick This should be fixed.
Instead of creating a Scoutbook account for parents, it’s usually better to have them create an account for themselves at my.Scouting. In many cases, they already have a BSA member ID number and just need to connect to it.
@JenniferOlinger thank you! Yes, there was some confusion. I thought the parent didn’t have an account and wanted me to add them and send a link. In the future I will have them create an account and ask for their info to connect to their scout. Thanks again!
@SarahFrick Many parents will be connected to their child automatically.
For the ones that are not automatically connected, they can log in to Scoutbook, and then go to:
Administration → My Account → My Connections
Then click on the red text where it says:
“If you are a parent/guardian and do not see your Scout listed below Connect to your Scout as Parent/Guardian.”
They will need their Scout’s BSA member ID number to connect this way.
