Parent has "No Applications" in My Applications page

I have a parent trying to transfer their scout from a pack to a troop. They login to my.scouting.org, select “my applications” from the menu, and then go to a blank “my applications” page. There are no youth applications on this page, and this parent is connected to two scouts in scoutbook. How does this get fixed?

rather common - Council can fix it or unit can transfer

I don’t think the unit will be able to transfer them if there is no parent relationship set. Certainly, you could try though.

Note that the parent relationship in Akela (membership DB) is not the same as the connections in Scoutbook.

It’s also possible the parent has two bsa member numbers, and the wrong one is associated with their my.scouting username. If you provide the scout’s member number, we can look for duplicates.

Thank you for checking!

Parent MID 13092776

Scout A MID 134828082

Scout B MID 134827893

I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green dot with a number 1 > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

I’m afraid this is going to be a reoccurring theme. You are correct that we can’t transfer scouts without a parent connection through my.scouting.org.

Will online registration be possible? Is the best way to go back to paper applications in this instance?

So is unit transfer still failing with no parent? You get the no parent error? Thought that was fixed.

Well, I’m trying to test this by transferring a scout out of our unit who doesn’t have a parent. I don’t want to go too far, though. I did just figure out how to find a unit by putting 00 on the front. I’m afraid now I just don’t want to go so far. I’m currently on the following screen. Can I select the unit to see what happens without transferring the scout?

@jacobfetzer that used to be the case (last year), but this year we found that units are able to transfer scouts even without a parent connection. The only difference is that parents that are connected to their scout got a notification email about the transfer, and those that don’t have a connection did not get an email.

Hi, I only see one of my children in “my scouting.” How do I add the missing one to my account? He is linked / connected to me on scout book.

Youth ID: 135102897
My myscount ID: 14194233

Thanks!

@SharonLiu Please contact your local council and ask them to add your parent / Scout relationship, which can be done with the council’s Registrar tools. We (SUAC) do not have the tools to add parent / Scout relationships at my.scouting.
