Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I invited a second parent to be able to see her daughter’s record. The parent has a son in Cubbies. We had trouble transferring her daughter to our Troop in TAC. Below is the email she sent to me.
“I received the email with a temp password to login to my scoutbook account for M. When I log in with my email address and the given password, I am taken to a page to set up “single sign on” which asks for my my.scouting login. When I do that, I get the error message below:
WARNING: The Member ID is asisgned to another Scoutbook user. Switching to a SSO account that is already used in another Scoutbook account may corrupt that user’s membership and advancement records. Do you want to proceed?
I already had a scoutbook login from which I can currently see my younger child’s cub scout enrollment and M’s old cub scout enrollment. My existing scouting.org member ID is 13849632. I know there was confusion getting M registered, so I’m not sure if I now have two different accounts? I’m not sure how to proceed.
Yes. The parent got the invitation. I posted the warning message she received in the first response. I was told that TAC is having system issues getting our charter established.
All the girls in the troop are in scoutbook and I can assign them merit badges as well as counselors. The scouts father is able to access her records but the mom gets the warning message.
Is my parent going to be able to get help? As the scoutmaster I can see all the scouts, assign them merit badges and counselors. My husband can see our daughter and the other father can see the scout whose mom is having issues. She would like to be able to see her daughters profile and progress.
The Scout with MID 141824205 registration, while it has an expiration date of 9/30/26 is not showing as current in the membership database. You will need to contact your Council for assistance. While you are working with them, they can use the Relationship tab of Registrar Tools to add the Scout’s mother provided the mother has a my.scouting.org ID and MID of her own. If she does not, ask her to create a my.scouting.org ID so you can have her properly added.
