Parent No access to new and old scouts

I have two parents and two scouts.

One is a new scout and we added a second parent but they do not have access to their new Scouts account.

One Scout has been with the unit 3 years and they added another parent, same thing. No access to that Scout’s account.

They both received emails confirming being added.

@CraigStachewicz a little more info so we do not have to guess - post the Scout Number with the Parent not seeing the scout number please

They are in Relationship. When were the parents added? Do they understand they have to change to Parent Profile in to right drop down?

@CraigStachewicz - there is a scroll feature to the dropdown so they need to check that especially if there are multiple entries

I see their screen. No options for mor connections

@CraigStachewicz we see one issue that does not make sense - can the mom try again- we did a small fix on her.

@CraigStachewicz We have the developers looking at Dad’s account. We think there is a bug.

So dad has access to both boys

He no longer can see the pack or den roster

He is asst den leader and committee member

@CraigStachewicz - adl and committee member are two different registered positions he should be one or the other but not registered as both.

A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. The question was what is the scouter’s current registration, not which one do you want it to be.

If they show as registered in both positions in the same unit, your council registrar will have to end the “wrong” one in the system from their end. It’s not fixable by the unit or anyone here.

If they are registered as one or the other, the COR or COR Delegate can change to another registered position in my.scouting. Alternatively, the Key 3 or Key 3 Delegates can make the change in SB+. Sometimes, there are issues when switching registrations (e.g. being stuck simultaneously registered in both positions), in which case the council registrar may need to get involved to fix it.

This user is currently registered as an Assistant Den Leader, which does not come with any default permissions. If the pack wants to give him more permissions, they need to use the Permissions Manager.
