I have a parent who is unable to log in to their my.Scouting account. He was in the process of transferring his child from GLAAC to VHC, and was trying to log in, but was unable to recover his username and password.

Parent to SE:
I can’t seem to recover our username / password from scouting.org (it consistently pops up saying they can’t retrieve our username / password), however I did just get an email to the associated email (***) asking for renewal, so I know it exists.

I was able to transfer J*** into Pack 360. Because you are moving from one council to another, the system will create a new BSA ID, which is 142469498. You will need to go into the account and change your birthdate since I did not have it on hand in about 24 hours when the record synced into the system.
Parent to SE:
Thank you. Unfortunately, the username and password for the account are lost, and I don’t know how to recover this account. It asks for my number (which you listed below: 142469498), and DOB in order to retrieve the account. However, as you mentioned, it doesn’t have his DOB, so I get this when I attempt to use the ID/DOB: "No accounts were found matching the information provided. Please contact your local council to report it.”
Should I just jettison his existing account (with lost credentials) and start fresh?
SE to Parent (this is when the SE looped me in on their email chain):
Our council has issued you a new BSA ID: 142447283. You will need to link your old BSA ID to this new one.
*** (this is me) can help you with this, as he is familiar with the process. You will need to create a new login for your My.Scouting account but be sure to enter your new BSA ID (142447283) when prompted.
Once you log in, look near the top of the My.Scouting homepage and click on “Manage Member ID.” This is where you can enter your old BSA ID. Once linked, your previous record should follow over to your new account.
If that does not work, you can also contact the registrar from your previous council and ask them to reset your account. Unfortunately, we do not have access to reset that account from our end.
With that, what is the best course of action? The parent needs his my.Scouting account recovered, and it looks like there are several BSA IDs floating around (not sure if they are linked to gether)
Child’s GLAAC ID: 141977992
Child’s initially issue VHC ID: 142469498
Last ID issued by VHC (not sure if this is a new ID issued for the child, or this is attached to the parent): 142447283
Scoutbook shows this ID attached to the parent: 142469499
