Parents not associated with our Pack

I have a couple of Parents that aren’t associated with my Pack and I’m not sure how to add them (or add them back)

First one, I attempted to use Scoutbook to change a parents position and put and end date on their old role…Oops. BSA# 14795390

The other is a new parent BSA# 141226935 He also gets a notification when logging in that his email is already in use so there’s more than just associating with the Pack.

Is there a how-to for adding parents to Scoutbook for our Pack. I’m sure I’m going to face this again in the future.

Thanks.

@GabeZawalski Setting up Parent Accounts - Scoutbook Knowledge Base

They can also make an account at my.scouting.org > then go to scoutbook.scouting.org > My Connections > at top of page there is a link to add a scout so you are parent

Thanks Donovan,
They’re both linked to their Scouts but not to our Pack. How does the Parent associate their Scoutbook account with our Pack?

When they go to “My Positions” there’s no option to add there.

@GabeZawalski - as parents only they would have no positions

My Positions are only for Officially Registered positions - for those that have filled out Adult Applications with Criminal Background Checks

Okay, so first parent WAS in the pack. I gave them an end date and accidentally kicked them. How do I get them back as they’re my New Member Coordinator. 14795390

Other parent: 141226935. We’re saying they don’t have an Adult Application or Background check completed?

@GabeZawalski

For 14795390 I requested a position sync so this parent will be back on the roster tomorrow. Since he is your new member coordinator, you should have your COR use Position Manager on the roster in my.scouting.org to change the registered position from Unit Scouter Reserve to Committee Member. Unit Scouter Reserve is for adults who peridodically help out, for example the Popcorn Kernel. Check tomorrow for this adult to be on the roster in Scoutbook.

141226935 is not registered. He will need to complete an adult application, background check and pay the adult registration fee in order to be added to your Scoutbook roster.

Got it! Thanks for the help everyone.

@GabeZawalski There is a registered position for New Member Coordinator (position code NM), and it is available to all unit types. Be sure to ask your COR (or COR Delegate) to put the adult in that registered position, if that’s where you want the adult to serve.

The New Member Coordinator is a specialized type of Committee Member.

Hello, I am the parent #141226935. The duplicate is #141291340 which should be removed. thanks!

@BingKung I have merged your Scoutbook accounts. Please log all the way out, then log back in again in order to see the change.

Your first name is different between the two BSA member ID numbers. If your first name needs to be corrected to match your legal name, your local council can correct it with their Registrar Tools.
