Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have a couple of Parents that aren’t associated with my Pack and I’m not sure how to add them (or add them back)
First one, I attempted to use Scoutbook to change a parents position and put and end date on their old role…Oops. BSA# 14795390
The other is a new parent BSA# 141226935 He also gets a notification when logging in that his email is already in use so there’s more than just associating with the Pack.
Is there a how-to for adding parents to Scoutbook for our Pack. I’m sure I’m going to face this again in the future.
They can also make an account at my.scouting.org > then go to scoutbook.scouting.org > My Connections > at top of page there is a link to add a scout so you are parent
Okay, so first parent WAS in the pack. I gave them an end date and accidentally kicked them. How do I get them back as they’re my New Member Coordinator. 14795390
Other parent: 141226935. We’re saying they don’t have an Adult Application or Background check completed?
For 14795390 I requested a position sync so this parent will be back on the roster tomorrow. Since he is your new member coordinator, you should have your COR use Position Manager on the roster in my.scouting.org to change the registered position from Unit Scouter Reserve to Committee Member. Unit Scouter Reserve is for adults who peridodically help out, for example the Popcorn Kernel. Check tomorrow for this adult to be on the roster in Scoutbook.
141226935 is not registered. He will need to complete an adult application, background check and pay the adult registration fee in order to be added to your Scoutbook roster.
@GabeZawalski There is a registered position for New Member Coordinator (position code NM), and it is available to all unit types. Be sure to ask your COR (or COR Delegate) to put the adult in that registered position, if that’s where you want the adult to serve.
The New Member Coordinator is a specialized type of Committee Member.
@BingKung I have merged your Scoutbook accounts. Please log all the way out, then log back in again in order to see the change.
Your first name is different between the two BSA member ID numbers. If your first name needs to be corrected to match your legal name, your local council can correct it with their Registrar Tools.
