Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have a few scouts dropping this year due to other commitments. We ended their memberships in Scoutbook Classic.
ISSUE Both scouts and their parents are still showing up as attendees in calendar events.
Example: BSA ID 137107578, 136692165, 137328033 just ended their memberships (one the other day, two just now).
If I go into the event to edit attendees, they are NOT listed. BUT even after I save the event, they still show up on the invitees list.
I would say this bug is related to invitee management for calendar events.
The only thing I can think to do is deleting the event, or wiping out all the attendees RSVP status and trying to start fresh. Both of which are not sufficient options.
Can share more details if that will help. My main goal is to not send calendar reminders to these families, since they told us they are not continuing in the program.
DESIRED BEHAVIOR: Parent/scout accounts are automatically removed from (future) calendar events if they are not an active member in the pack
Thanks!
NOTE: Is it possible we ended their membership incorrectly? e.g. in Scoutbook “membership” and not on the my.scouting roster?
There really isn’t a nice way to drop scouts who leave the program before recharter (or I guess their new 12 mo renewal). This should be manageable on the unit level and not require council intervention. Separate feature request here…
I have an event on Aug 25, 2024 on my pack calendar. I removed all attendees and saved the event. Everyone EXCEPT parents + scouts who had membership end are gone. Only the parents/scouts that shouldn’t be in the pack any more remain, and I have no way to remove them.
I need a solution for this that doesn’t require deleting events when people leave the unit. Thanks!
