Parents unable to invite their scout into Scoutbook

Dear IT team, we have just transferred in the AOLs from Pack 0813 (Dubai) into Troop 0813. However, when trying to have parents invite their scouts and add the scout email, the option to invite their scout is not available to the parent already linked. The scout appears as having an email in their profile, but when checking if they appear in the option for sending messages to them they are not there.
Also, parents Scoutbook profile or child’s profile does not have the “invite” option.

Please help us have the scouts be able to log into their Scoutbook account.

Below is the list of scouts that have the issue:
Zxxn - 136902340 (Parent ID: 136902341)
Lxxxh - 13410111 (Parent ID:13408544)
Rxxy - 13980097 (Parent ID:14129191)

Thank you heaps!

@GigiKarschies - have you looked at this:

Thank you. Mom of Zxxn - 136902340 (Parent ID: 136902341) followed the guide to create my.scouting acct for Zxxn. It provided the below screenshot errors.
“So when I go to make a youth account for Zxxn, it finds his information. When I select “retrieve information” it asks me to provide some information.” "when I provide the information it gives me this error.

@GigiKarschies I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)

The user already has a username that is everything before @ of email. You might try using BOT at bottom right of my.scouting.org to recover it. Just tell it “forgot password”. If it asks do you know security questions you can say “no.”

Hi Donovan, thanks for your help so far. I am taking over from Gigi on this issue regarding 136902340 and the other new scouts. The scout gets the email with reset link, but upon clicking it goes to the security question screen, which never fully loads:

Just stays on this screen and there is no option to say “no.”

To me that looks like something on the computer (like a popup extension) is blocking it. I would try copying the link and using an incognito window to load it

Nope, that didn’t work. Tried in an incognito window as well as on a mobile device. Same issue. If I click “Go to Login Page” it says “Sorry you are having trouble recovering your password. Please contact your local council to report it.” See attached.

It looks like you have an international address and I think some info may be missing. Are you able to edit his address info in his scoutbook plus profile?

Nope, nothing missing.

Oh, I’m not so familiar with how international addresses work. I made one slight change yesterday and synched it. They can try again. If it doesn’t work, you need to contact your council for assistance. If they can’t figure it out, they can open a ticket with national member care.

Hi Jacob, The issue really is that all these parents cannot invite their children into Scoutbook. We were hoping to resolve the issue with one scout so that we can internally solve it for all others.

Is there a way to reset the log in for Zain Waskey to enable him to log in?

The Scout has a username at my.Scouting.

Have you tried using the chatbot (“Betty”) at my.Scouting to reset the password? Try using 00000 as the zip code.

If that doesn’t work, please contact your council for assistance.

Didn’t work just FYI
