Relationship Verification Bug

Is the relationship verification bug still a thing?

I have an adult scouter who gets the message to “verify his relationship” each time he logs into Scoutbook+ However he can continue on, shows as being connected as the father of the scout, and appears to have full access to the scout?

Adult in question is member id:14476154 , Scout’s member id is 14289814

@TimothyGiorgi that was never a Bug. DO is in relationship with MO with the MID 7338273 not 14476154. So a new relationship to the correct MID needs to be added either by unit in SB+ or by Council.

Thanks - it sounds like he must have two different registrations. I’ll contact the council to get them merged.

@TimothyGiorgi that will not do anything for the relationship - MIDs cannot be merged, only managed - and only training syncs between MIDs when managed - not relationships

I have a parent with this issue as well, new as of a couple of weeks ago. She is the only parent with an account. When I look at her Scout, I see her listed twice with different member IDs (141500411 and 140923335), but when I click on either one of those, it takes me to the same profile for 141500411.

@ErinBrown Please ask the local council to use their Registrar Tools to look up the Scout. In the “Relationships” tab / section, ask them to please remove the parent under member ID number 140923335, which belongs to another council.

I’m having issues with the relationships of my scout to add the parents. As a den leader I can’t add my relationship and council won’t help either. The father of the scout can’t do it as well. Who can fix this when our council and pack are unable/incompetent? I’m tired of getting the pop ups.

Scout is 141683222 and Father is 142148293 and Mother is 141778018.

@LindseyTenney you cannot make yourself a parent.

The Council Registrar can help. Or another Unit Leader can easily do it.

A Good way for Key3 to confirm existing Parent Relationships in SB+ > Click Reports in Left Grey bar > New Report in top right > Roster Report > then select Scouts on Left > on Right side select PG Relationships.

This gives a report with Parents listed WITH the Member ID that is associated with the Relationship

@LindseyTenney The mother already has the parent / child “relationship”, but it is under the mother’s secondary member ID number: 141683223.

Ask one of the pack’s Key 3 or a Key 3 Delegate to add the parent / relationship in Scoutbook Plus, but using the primary member ID number.

I can’t seem to find quite the same problem others are having. I’m attempting to send a request to a parent to connect to my newest Bear and the “Relationship to” field stays grayed out. I am following all of the steps. BSA ID 142146244

This is the second time. The first time I was trying to add the second parent.

@ConstanceKnie- You should add relationships in advancements.scouting.org

Legacy Scoutbook should now only be used for MBC Work and Payment logs.

She’s already there as Mother of. I even tried adding her again and is errored saying she was already identified

@ConstanceKnie- i would ask why are you trying to re-add someone was already listed ? The parent needs to log into advancements.scouting.org

@ConstanceKnie if she signed up online at beascout.scouting then she had to make a log in. She can use the same log in to go to scoutbook+

I misunderstood you I guess. I thought you meant I had to add her. Am I to understand that invitations to opt in are not a thing anymore? What does she do once she logs into advancements? Will it be pretty obvious? I just want to be prepared to answer questions. Thank you for your patience.

@ConstanceKnie I would just watch her log in I think - if she is already listed under relationships

@ConstanceKnie - the invitations from legacy scoutbook are no longer valid nor is adding anyone to a scout as far as parents/guardians.

Thank you that helps alot. I have let myself get behind the updated what’s working and what isn’t. So what happens when the parents sign into advancements?
