Relationships/Connections need to be validated

Many parents in my Pack and Troop have been receiving these messages when they log into Scoutbook Plus
“Your relationship to the following youth needs to be validated or access will become limited on 12/31/25:”

Why is this happening? These are all parents who have been members and connected to their child(ren)'s accounts for years.

This is not a calendar issue or a problem with new parents. This is parents who have been connected to their children for years in Scoutbook and my.scouting.org receiving messages that they need to validate their relationships.

Not all parents connected in Scoutbook are connected in my.scouting.org and thus must be validated by a parent connected in my.scouting.org. Did you click on the link to read the entire change log entry regarding connections?

But some of them are as they are the parent who pays their child’s renewal through my.scouting.org. Is there a way to see all who receive this message so as the Committee Chair I can connect parents to their scouts?

Parent Name and the Account (Membership # or MID of the parent) are very different things. Many users have several MIDs. There are solutions being worked on for Key3 to have more visibility on this issue.

You, as committee chair can connect the parents but the existing parent in my.scouting.org will still need to respond to an e-mail to validate the connection. Parents receiving the message who are listed in my.scouting.org are getting it because there are other parents connected in Scoutbook that are not connected in my.scouting.org.

The Relationships section in Scoutbook Plus only shows those relationships that are in my.scouting.org, not those only in legacy Scoutbook.

Do you have a recommendation for best way to manage this? Should I ask all parents to log in and see if they get that message, then ask the other parent to add them or should they notify me?
