Removing old leaders

We have several leaders who have either left the Pack or transitioned to the Troop when their scouts moved up. Is it possible to remove them from the roster before the unit renewal period? They were already multiples in the Troop and Pack.

I changed them to Committee Members from Den Leader status. In Scoutbook Legacy I could end their position so we would not see them anymore on the rosters but I don’t know if that will do anything now.

I saw on their profile pages I can mark as inactive, but I don’t want to mess up their Troop membership or possible future leadership roles (they may rejoin in the future when youngest is in Kindergarten).

@LaurenAtkins- i do not think it would be an issue to end the position in scoutbook classic. As far as the official roster at my.scouting.org removal can be done by council but they are usually hesitant to do so prior to unit renewal. I would also start the process at the unit roster > connection manager in scoutbook classic by removing scout connections. That is primarily what keeps them on the list

@LaurenAtkins

You can set the Opt Out status in Scoutbook Plus for adults and Scouts that are not returning to your unit. You can then use the Filter option on the roster to exclude anyone who is opted out.

Best practice is to move leaders who are not returning to Unit Scouter Reserve in my.scouting.org.

As Stephen said, most Councils will not end the unit membership prior to registration expiration unless the adult or Scout has transferred to another unit within the Council. You would need to discuss this with your Council professional staff.

Thank you both. I was able to move them to reserve and remove their connections.
