I believe my question is similar to this one (Report for Leadership positions) which was never really answered.
I want to generate a report that shows me ONLY scouts who are holding a present ‘position’ in the Troop.
I’m know how to generate a custom roster report and include in that the Position - but this shows me all members in the troop and the patrol they reside in. I want a report that ONLY includes scout holding a position like Patrol Leader, Asst Patrol leader, SPL, ASPL, Historian, Scribe, Quartermaster, etc, etc.
@Chip_Linthicum- you could use the csv option and filter the data
Yes the data is already available - I see no benefit to the complexity of adding that filter especially as it would only have one purpose
OK, so what exactly do I easily filter on in the exported .csv to exclude all the scouts listed as just members of a patrol with no active “Position” ?
There is no way to do that methodically or automatically without just manually walking through all my scouts.
I was looking for a way to save some time here, hence why I submitted this as a change request.
I would sort by the position column - then all the nulls are those without position
yeah it looks like Troops membership is now with the Leadership - we are seeing if they can be split to different columns
>> I would sort by the position column - then all the nulls are those without position
Maybe you guys are using a different report?
I’m creating a report with report builder and only specifying to include the youth and then in the setting, choosing only “Positions - Show Position”.
In the resulting .CSV it is always returning me all scouts and for scouts without a position - it shows “Scouts BSA [<Patrol_Name>] Patrol”.
So where am I supposed to see and then filter out a NULL entry?
Is there an option I’m missing to tell it not to include the Scout’s patrol name in the output?
Please see my attached .CSV - as that is exactly what I’m working with.

Ad Donovan said earlier, a change the SUAC did not know about added membership to the same column as leadership.
We have asked the report developers to provide a roster option to only show leadership or split it into a different column.
OK, I didn’t understand that verbiage above from Donovan, my apologies.
I will interpret this to mean that this was a change that was overlooked, a bug, and that it will be fixed on a future release. Great!
