Requirements to add Scouts to an Activity Log event

I am the new ASM for my Troop, and I am working on updating our activity logs to reflect our recent camping trip. I am able create the group event for the dates the camping trip occurred, but I am unable to add any of the scouts that attended to the event. Our troop’s committee chair indicates that I am a Troop Admin, but this doesn’t seem to resolve my access issue.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

We need details on what happens when you try to add Scouts. Are you getting an error? If so, when does the error occur?

When I click Add Person in the event, I have a blank screen with a search bar at the top. If I enter a scout’s name, there is no change to the contents of the page. There are no errors per se, but I am unable to complete the attendance as I can’t select the scouts that were there.

Thank you for the screenshot.

I wonder if this is a mobile issue. Do you see the issue on a computer too?

Good question. I have also tried it from my laptop and I had a similar user experience there.

@ChristopherFeucht- that looks like an activity log add person screen. If you are looking to add an activity log item to an event you have to go to the event click edit then go to the log type at the bottom clock on add and work through those screens. I just went through this process on a tablet and the red color matched what I saw working from the activity logs rather than an event. On my tablet the red box had all names listed to pick from.

I suspect this is due to you being registered as both an ASM and Committee Member in your troop. Only the Charter Org Rep is allowed ot hold more than 1 position in a unit.

Since we are in the same Coucnil, I e-mail my council contact about this registration issue.

I see something about sub-unit leaders being assigned to a den/patrol as a part of the activity edit form. Our troop hasn’t entered patrols in Scoutbook at this point, so could that be part of the issue?
