Scout not showing in Scoutbook - Transfer

Our scout transferred to another Pack and our new Pack is having difficulties adding him.

His Scout ID is 13479615. He is trying to join Chief Seattle Pack 460.

The new Pack told me to reach directly out to Scoutbook for assistance.

Thank you

What was the transfer process used? The pack shouldn’t have to manually add him if the transfer was submitted to council or submitted as a transfer via beascout (out-of-council transfer) or my.scouting (in-council transfer). Once he’s added to the new pack, he should turn up in the official roster at my.scouting, then in the roster at Scoutbook+ within 24 hours or so after that.

After he’s in the pack roster, one of the pack’s Key 3 (cubmaster, committee chair or chartered org rep) or Key 3 Delegates needs to assign him to a den. At that point, it should all flow fairly smoothly.

Hello Charley, Thank you for the quick response.

Yes, he was transferred using the correct process. What you said makes sense but he is still not visible to anyone.

On a related note, I do not see my son on my Scoutbook profile. Should I be able to see him even if he is not assigned a Pack?

@ChaseMahaffey

Please check the Scouting America Member ID (MID) for the Scout. MID 13479615 belongs to a female that is not of Pack age.

If the Scout is changing Councils, he will be assigned a new MID and his name and DOB must match in both Councils for the system to automatically move the Scout in Scoutbook.

That makes sense. He is changing councils.

How is his new Scouting America Member ID assigned from the new council? I think this is the issue.

@ChaseMahaffey

The new MID is assigned when he is registered in the new Council. If you give us his MID in your Council we can look him up and figure out what happened. The number you provided is not this Scout’s MID as it is for a female too old for Cub Scouts and not in your Council

I do not think he has a new MID from the new council. Should I reach out directly to them to see how to obtain one?

His old MID is 140650848. ( I don’t know where I got the one I provided previously).

@ChaseMahaffey

I do not believe this Scout has been properly transferred. His Scoutbook account does not have a Chief Seattle Council unit listed and I cannot find another individual in Scouting America with the same last name and DOB or same first and last name.

I suggest having the family contact the new council to register their Scout. They should make sure he is registered with first, middle and last names.
