Scout to Adult online Application in my.scouting.org

Daniel Webster Council
We have a youth who just aged out and wants to apply to be an adult leader. From what I understand, our Council does allow online adult applications. He has a my.scouting.org account and has completed YPT. However, when he goes to My Applications - Transfer/Multiple Applications and selects multiple, the drop downs show “No Data” so he is not able to start an Adult application. Are we missing something?

I believe you need to complete a paper app to move from youth to adult. Contact your Council to verify.

I believe the issue is that multiplying won’t work because as a youth they did not have a background check and thus taking a short cut as a multiple just is not possible. It needs to be a fresh new application but digital should be fine, starting at beascout.org for example, unless you are in one of the few councils with extra paper requirements for adults by local law. I would like to hear what you learn.

It would be good to hear if it is possible to initiate it at beascout. We were told, if the Scout (now adult) had time left on their membership it had to be a paper app (scanned in, but still an “off-line” manual process) to be no cost. If someone has a just turned 18 year old who can try it at beascout and report back, I’d love to hear about it.
