I’ve encountered two problems today (see images):
- When entering advancements from the roster page, there are no ranks to select from the drop down, and I cannot move forward with bulk advancements.
- When viewing from an individual scout instead, there are no listed Cub Scout rank progress bars like before, and I cannot see/select a current adventures. I can only see adventures completed in the past.
For reference: I am Key 3 Committee Chair for my Pack. I have tried accessing these items through Safari and Chrome, both fully up to date with cache/cookies cleared. I’ve tried private/incognito windows. All of the scouts in my pack roster have already been advanced to the appropriate den for the upcoming year.
@KathleenTran - what browser is this on? I would try a hard refresh
Hi @Stephen_Hornak . I thought I had done that already (Safari and Chrome), but I just completely quit both applications and tried again, and all seems to be in working order now. I went all morning without the access; I’m glad it’s back. Sometimes the simplest solutions are all you need!
I am having the same problem. I have a) verified I’m in the correct profile as the advancements chair and as den leader b) verified that I have the permissions for advancements when I hover over my name on the roster c) tried three different browsers d) cleared the cache on all 3 browsers.
This leads me to believe it’s not a me problem and it’s a scout book problem. I was hoping to put in all the adventures from Wolf camp today. Now I’m not sure what to do.
@JenniferMcRae - had this worked for you recently ?
Nope. I tried it through my iPad app as well. Same error. First photo is that there are no adventures under quick add. Second photo is that when I go to an individual scout, there are no adventures under the carrot for current adventures.
@JenniferMcRae - has it ever worked and on what browser
Yes. Used to work great. Last time I tried was in May to prep for the pack meeting. I’m advancement chair and I also put in the advancements for my son’s and daughter’s den as leader. It’s worked on safari and chrome. Here are the permissions in my profile:
@JenniferMcRae - being registered in two positions is not supposed to happen. You are either a den leader or a committee member but not both.
Ok. It’s been like that all year and worked fine. So is this a new issue with the update?
@JenniferMcRae - the system is supposed to prevent multiple position registrations. The only person in a unit that can hold multiple positions is the Charter Org Rep. So the first thing that should happen is to remove the position that is least important.
I am having the same problem as everyone else, and have done all the suggested fixes. Please tell me that this is being worked on so that all of us can get on with entering passed requirements for our Scouts. Thank You
@MichaelHall9 - i believe it has been reported. The challenge is reproducing the issue.. I work in various browsers and the only one that has been problematic has been edge. Firefox, chrome and opera are working for me. If the issue appears for me in chrome a ctrl-R has populated the ranks
I was in Safari and while I was doing the workaround I noticed that it all of sudden got fixed!
Thank You
Ok. Are you saying that this is the root of the problem and that will fix my advancements issue? Or are you just latching on to something unrelated that is “wrong.”
@JenniferMcRae - the multiple registrations in the unit has created issues that make troubleshooting difficult. From the Scouting America registration guidebook:
There are no restrictions on the number of positions one person may hold as long as the individual serves in only one position per unit with the exception of the chartered organization representative (CR), who is the only individual that can be registered in more than one position within the same unit. The CR may also serve in a multiple capacity as the committee chair (CC) or as a member of the committee (MC,NM, or PT) within that unit.
On the issue of ranks not being shown I have been able to replicate the issue using a browser that I do not actively use (Edge in this case). My firefox session has not had the issue but I keep firefox launched with two active tabs one for the forum and one for scoutbook. It is only re-launched if my pc reboots.
Chrome had the issue when i first launched it but a ctrl-r has seemed to fix it.
The dev team has been notified so watch the change log.
Does this issue occur on your phone ?
Does it perhaps fix itself if you leave your browser up during the course of the day ?
It is looking like a cache/cookie issue but a challenge to replicate in my case
