Scoutbook Event Attendance

Ok, so which in system should we maintain event attendance, SB or IA?

I think the answer is IA but SB appears to have better reporting.

Apologies if I’m missing something but we just started migrating from TM so this is all new to us.

Is there a document/post that describes the best use of each system?

Scoutbook and IA are supposed to display the same data as they use the same database. Long term, the Scoutbook user interface will be retired and all calendar activity will be performed with the IA user interface.

That said, there are known issues that are being worked on by the developers. Watch the Scoutbook Change Log for notices of updates.

Understood but what is everyone doing in the meantime? I don’t want to do dual entry.

Or to put it differently, what functionality is everyone using SB for?

For now, just use Scoutbook. As IA is adjusted in IA you will see the data you put in SB show correctly in IA

Ok. How do we log camping nights, hiking miles and service hours in SB? I don’t see those options in the SB event/calendar entry screen.

Use the same method as before the new calendar. Go to Internet Advancement and choose Activity Logs.

I’m sorry, use Activity Logs as you have in the past.

NOTE: Currently the IA adds everyone who was invited to the event as a participant of an activity (e.g., campout) if you link an activity. Remove those who did not attend and you do not wish to be included. (The plan is to have an option to include only those marked attended, but that is not in the system yet.)
