Scoutbook linked to wrong account

Hello, I think my son’s account and my account are not linked properly. How can this be corrected?

OK a little more details? @StephenWilson4 why do you think it is wrong?

@StephenWilson4 OK I see give me a few

Hello Donovan,

I tried to log in to Scoutbook, and got a message as follows: “In order to continue using Scoutbook you must setup a my.Scouting account. Please review the options below.”

I followed the directions, but after I finished I tried to log in and the account was my son’s and not mine.

I’ve noticed that when I log into my sons account, it appears to be mine… and when I log into my account it appears to be almost blank.

I also received this error when logging in: “Warning, another user is using the same e-mail address. If this is unexpected, contact your local council or post to the Using Scoutbook Forum.”

I believe what happened was I incorrectly linked my sons account to my account.

Can this be corrected?

Thank you

Well you cannot link accounts - what did you try to do??? We need to know the actions to try to isolate it.

The accounts are cleaned up and SHOULD be good - I would take a look at the scouts account and make sure it all looks good.

Hello Donovan,

The accounts are not correct as of now.

My ID number 12120120

My son’s ID number 132366187

I tried to log in to Scoutbook, and got a message as follows: “In order to continue using Scoutbook you must setup a my.Scouting account. Please review the options below.”

I believe what happened was I incorrectly linked my sons account to my account (his account was probably already logged in when I didn’t realize it).

@StephenWilson4 I can setup a screenshare if you want to see what you are seeing

Hi Donovan,

From Scoutbook for myself (NAME REMOVED), when I click on the link to go to My.Scouting.org it takes me to my son’s (NAME REMOVED).

@StephenWilson4 please do not post names

Hi Donovan,

Also, when I log into my sons Scoutbook account, and then click the link to go to my.Scouting home page, it also goes to his my.Scouting page.

So, it appears both Scoutbook accounts are now going to his my.Scouting account.

It probably needs a 24 hour sync - very few use that link

Or a clear cache to get new website data - some action earlier had switched you and your scouts accounts. I would say log out > clear all scouting.org data from browser > then try.

Hello Donovan,

Yes, I’m happy to set up a screenshare with you.

I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
