Scoutbook permissions not updating despite reassigment

My role in our troops includes recording activity logs for both our boys and girls Troop. Despite key 3 members following instructions as posted on several occasions, the changed permissions have not updated (despite waiting 48 hours).

Can you be specific about which permissions were being assigned? That might help with diagnosis. Not to sound too much like stereotypical tech support, but did the Key 3 member who assigned the permissions remember to press the Apply Changes button?

I’ve seen that step missed a couple of times.

@DanaMyers2 you have the correct permissions - you have no Calendar permissions for G troop - so the logs would be managed through the logs - not the calendar

I will confirm, but yes, I believe they did select apply changes.

For Girls, they selected advacement awarder, advacement editor, advacement approver.

I have not confirmed which roles were selected for boys, but I believe the same.

When I attempt to add a new activity log, there is “no data” listed under “Add person” tab

For activities, you need Create/Remove/Edit/Approve activities, which you didn’t list but might be automatic, depending on your registered position. If you’re editing the activities via the calendar, you need the Calendar Create/Edit/Remove as well (I think). Again, depending on your registered position, that might be automatic.

Keep in mind that of there’s a joint event between two units, you need the same permissions in both units to edit it.

Hi, I am still having issues with using the unit quick entry for my den. The cub master has granted all three permissions and it has been more than 24 hours. Also, how do I create a new post…I can only reply to open discussions and it is hard to find a topic to reply to sometimes.

I can’t help with the first issue, although one of the SUAC volunteers may be able to look into it.

However, for creating a new post, I can help. :^)

First, go to the top level category where you want to post, say “Scoutbook & Scoutbook Plus Bugs”:

Then, look for the “New Topic” button in the upper right corner:

On mobile devices, it only shows as the “pencil on paper” icon from the left side of the New Topic button (at least for me). Click there, and you’re good to go!

@AmyTerriquez what happens when you try to use quick entry?

See attachment for what I am seeing. I select the requirement, then enter the details, but all scouts are showing not eligible, even though some of the scouts in my den, should be. (the blue box ones are not mine, but the orange box ones are)

141105513 is one of the scouts in my den.

Looks like I am able to enter activity logs for Boys now, but Girls is still not functioning. When I try and add participants to an activity log I see “No Data”. Any suggestions?
