Can’t seem to enter a comment or see any comments I have put into Scoutbook Plus on Scouts’ advancement. I have selected my Troop # in the upper right hand corner and i can still sign off on requirements.
I would like to add that since I posted this, another one of our troop’s adult leaders has the same thing happening to him. As such, it seems that it may be some setting or common issue that is causing this. Once you find out what may be going on here, I’d like to see how we can get his account resolved as well.
@BrianWeston is this one One scout or many? looks like this is a Merit badge?
It’s any comment in merit badges as well as comments in the rank advancement pages for Scouts in my troop.
OK will look - yesterday the connection system was ended - as SM you SHOULD be good but - your unit needs to take action - please have leader watch video - Video Guide for this new SB+ Permission System
So should I be able to see and add comments now? Or is there a refresh that has to occur before I see it as fixed. Or are you still taking a look further?
Also, in regards to the video, I am not clear as to who needs to watch that. Is that a requirement to get this fixed for either myself or the other adult leader having issues? He is an ASM in our troop.
The entire permissions structure was changed yesterday. The video, and the in the blue banner at the top of these forums, related to the changes lays out what’s necessary for units to do in order to assign permissions to scouters in a unit, including what permissions are assigned by default and which ones are available to be assigned. Getting things straightened out for your ASM probably requires action based on the video/posts to assign the desired permissions.
As Donovan noted, as SM (one of the unit Key 3) your permissions should be full access even under the new system, since they flow directly from your registered position. If it’s not working, there might be an issue with your account (which he’s looking into), or you might need to force a refresh/clear cached data to force a reload of the site. It’s not yet clear what’s going on with your account.
Ok thank you, I did have some issues with my account a couple of weeks back that I was able to repair with my local council. Something happened with my account when I tried re-establishing a parent relationship with my son and followed the instructions on the site so this may be a result of some of that. I have tried clearing my cache on several different browsers on several different devices to no avail. Also, the ASM told me he had been having issues since before the permissions structure change yesterday and demonstrated the same phenomenon that I was experiencing to me on his device as well.
Hoping some of this information can help in troubleshooting.
NOTE: a person cannot establish a parent relationship for themself
Has anything further been determined about my account?
I have a simliar issue I cannot click into the rosters of my AOL den and I could back in September. I am an AOL Den Leader and also listed as Committee Chair (PK). When I go to the page where it has the rosters and I try to click anywhere on my den members it doesnt let me. I tried resetting the roster, clearing my internet browser’s cache and tried incognito mode in the brower (all suggested troubleshoots) and none work.
As KathyrynDumas expresses above, both my ASM and I both also had been seeing this issue before the permissions were changed earlier in the week. Has anything been determined as of yet?
@BrianWeston @KathrynDumas - what do you show as registered positions in my.scouting.org
I am showing as Scoutmaster,
@KathrynDumas you are just Den Leader - not chair. I think your issue is you are registered as Webelos Den Leader and Den Leader both. Webelos Den Leader is a dead position. I would go to Legacy Scoutbook > My Positions > put an end date on WDL. that should immediately solve it or in 24 hours solve it.
@BrianWeston your account looks fine. Are you sure you are under the SM Profile in the dropdown at the top right and not the parent profile?
Yes, I double checked that. Just tried putting in a comment on one of my Scouts’ advancement pages and it will not let me and still getting this:
I can still sign off and approve requirements however.
Could it be related to my connections or some other setting?
@BrianWeston what is scouts Member #?
There are several, but one I know I have put comments in for in the past that I can no longer see them or input new comments into is 135115190.
