Let me clarify a couple of things. The list I sent you is from our charter org rep. He can see them - but he is involved with renewal. I am a council commissioner and cannot see them even with my council level privilege’s I am not the only one in the pack having this issue. The other leaders all attended council ScoutBook training this past weekend at our council office using their own laptops. They all see exactly what I see. NADA. I can go to any other computer to logon and see exactly the same thing. It is not my cache, it is not in incognito, it is not a filter it is not my computer.
Is there a way we can Zoom this guys so we can all see the same thing at the same time and talk together without the lag and the miscues? I have pack meeting tonight but otherwise am available days and the other evenings - let me know what works.
@JudyHolcomb- i could do a zoom meeting or a screen share. You can email me at shornak@bloomberg.net
I have not received a zoom request as yet ? Is there still an issue ?
@JudyHolcomb- is this still an issue?
@StewartStryker- what ever is listed in scoutbook is NOT the official roster nor positions. What is shown in my.scouting.org is the official roster and registration. As scoutbook plus seems to indicate your registration with the unit is in expired status.
@StewartStryker Your registered position in Troop 220 is expired / lapsed. You should be able to multiple register into that troop.
@Stephen_Hornak @jenniferOlinger Thanks for the reply.
I deleted my post just before you replied, because I found another message that seems closer to my situation.
Can someone please educate me on how a unit registration becomes expired? I joined about a year ago but I wasn’t aware they expire automagically. The SM says he hasn’t changed my status, so… Whodunnit?
@StewartStryker Please contact the unit’s Chartered Organization Representative (COR). The COR is the person who approves adult leader registrations. Or contact your local council.
@StewartStryker- registrations expire annually and must be renewed by the individual.
Yes it is. I have been dragging my feet setting up a Zoom session because we have been doing recharter/renewals this week and I was hoping it would clear up the issue, (that plus the fact that I am sole caregiver to my husband who has Alzheimers so I have bee trying to carve out some availability) but unfortunately so far nothing has been cleared up. I also found out that the list our Charter Org rep sent us is not what he is seeing on my.scouting. He got that from the registrar at council. So apparently only the registrar is seeing the full list and no one else associated with the pack. I don’t know what tool she is using to pull it but it is not Scoutbook plus nor anything we have access to see. I don’t want to intrude on your weekend. I have scouts on Monday evening but am available any time during the day on Monday or anytime Tuesday, either during the day or during the evening. Let me know when would be a good time to link us together and we can probably go through this on my end fairly quickly.
@JudyHolcomb - well if the cor or none of the other key 3 see them on the roster for the unit then they are not registered in that unit. Also there is no such thing as recharter.
@JudyHolcomb - I would have a key 3 log into my.scouting.org then go to the unit then roster and look for reports on the left then click that and here are some reports that may provide some info
The issue seems to be complicated by not getting a clear description on what COR is seeing.
What is your my.scouting listed role in the unit in question?
@JudyHolcomb - perhaps getting the committee chair or cor from the pack to post here would be helpful as 3rd person support is not sustainable.
@JudyHolcomb It looks like you are a pack Committee Member at my.Scouting.
The Cubmaster and the Chartered Org. Rep. both have the functional role of Key 3 Delegate, which they do not need. They are already members of the unit Key 3, so they are delegating permissions to themselves that they already have. They could make you a Key 3 Delegate if they want you to help with unit renewal (formerly called recharter).
The Cubmaster is also registered as a Committee Member, which the code at my.Scouting is supposed to prevent. I would recommend ending one of his registered positions.
Forgive my oldtimer nomenclature. I still think of the annual signing of the CPA (Charter Partner Agreement along with the paying the annual unit fee of $100 as a recharter for the unit and then the fees that the members pay as renewals. Two separate things that we have to do/ We signed the CPA and paid our annual unit fee this past week. We also paid for the members that wished to pay through the unit rather than pay individually since they are on the same cycle as the unit. And the members ARE registered with the unit. Here is the list the Council Registrar sent to our COR from her computer.
So the scouts are now all showing up on the my.scouting roster. I can see them (as a Council Commissioner) as can any of our Key 3 or any of the positions that give them functional access through my,scouting. They are kind of showing up in ScoutBook (I will have to show you what I mean but since most of the functions of ScoutBook direct you right away to ScoutBook Plus to enter Advancements or edit the Den, etc…. that is where our problem lies because they are NOT showing up in ScoutBook Plus. I promise – just let me Zoom and I will prove it and I promis it happens no matter what computer I log into and it isn’t just me – it is the other leaders and other packs in our Council. Below is the Roster I just pulled from my.scouting with the names of the cubs redacted but the membership numbers remaining, to prove that they are reregistered and current.
I will let them know you want them in on this, although they are not really Scoutbook users – I am the Scoutbook Administrator for the Pack, as well as a Council Commissioner which is why I can see all of the things they can see in my.scouting as well as do anything they need me to do in ScoutBook. They are begging me to get this cleaned up for them. I will let them know it is now their problem.
@JudyHolcomb - well frankly if the key 3 in the unit are not taking responsibility for issues then why are they even in those positions? And now you are stating that other packs are seeing the same issue ? I really think it’s time to have those leaders post their issues.
I have tried to explain that to them many times and have just this year gotten more actively involved in trying to get this all cleaned up. We have a committee meeting this Monday, 10/20/2026, and I hope to get much of this cleaned up then. Thanks for the feedback.
The problem from a troubleshooting standpoint is that you cannot see it as they see it. Your permissions just don’t work exactly that way in either system. So passing on the info second or third hand isn’t that helpful getting to the bottom of any of the issues.
