I have a situation involving my grandson who is a new scout in Troop 306 in Avon, Indiana in Crossroads of America Council He is a multiple registrant with Troop 107 in Cincinnati, Ohio in Dan Beard Council. If anything is entered in Scoutbook Plus by Troop 107, it basically cuts off Troop 306 and says that he has opted out of participating in that troop. His Connections shows the leaders in both troops have Full Control.
@MichaelHageman - the thing is with multiple registrations that only ONE unit can be working the advancements for the scout. Which unit is primary and will be entering advancements ? The SUAC can make recommendations on how best to handle this.
Is the plan for him to remain active in both councils?
Right now, the scoutbook account has his crossroads of America member ID in it. If he’s going to remain active in both, we will likely need to create a second scoutbook account for him so he can appear on both rosters and receive communications for both.
For the advancement part, either one unit needs to be primary for ensuring his records are complete on their side or we have been told by IT that if there’s a second ID under management, the data can sync between the two. Although, we’ve not seen the latter in practice to know how well it actually works.
Troop 306 is and will continue to be his primary troop, but he will be attending 2 weeks of summer camp with Troop 107. Fortunately, Black Pug can import into Scoutbook but I can stop his records from importing and just pass the information on to 306 so I can make this work. When his multiple registration started, I could see both of his member numbers (I have a Crissroads member number which I can go back and firth through My.Scouting.)
This kind of defeats the reason for multiple registrations in my opinion
