Two issues, both noticed today.
Troop 127 with the Central Georgia Council.
One scout shows on our roster in my.scouting.org but does not show in SB or SB+. Only noticed it because SB+ showed him as expired, despite being current.
SB+ removed half of the scouts from our upcoming campout in the calendar. We did not edit the event. It was fine this morning when I checked our headcount (we have to meet a minimum for this one). Checked this evening and nearly half were removed, including several that had RSVPed as attending. I was able to edit and add them back but had to reach out to parents to ask them to redo their RSVP as I could not remember all who had signed up. This is not the first time SB+ has randomly removed scouts from the event with no explanation. Very frustrating when trying to track sign-ups and registration.
@RaymondCarnley What is the missing Scouts Member # (no names)
SB does not just drop scouts from events, or we have never heard of that you would think we would have. What is the event name and date?
ID: 133139815
Event is “February Campout - Snow Tubing” from February 13-15, 2026.
I’ve had it happen once before. Wrote it off to human error…maybe someone was tampering with the event. It happened again today. Went from 46 invited scouts to 29. Several who RSVPed yes were dropped. I confirmed with my leadership that noone had edited the event. I’ve gone in and added them back.
I set a 24 hour sync for that scout.

@RaymondCarnley was that a multi unit event?
I’ve seen issues come up in classic Scoutbook where someone “deleted” the membership of a scout (trying to move them) and they dropped off of the calendar invitations. I wonder if this is something similar? Reassigning scouts to patrols in SB+ is supposed to avoid the “dropping” issue that used to happen in classic SB when folks ended a patrol membership instead of inviting a scout to the new patrol in classic SB.
@RaymondCarnley in my.scouting.org Roster as a Key3 - is that scout Opted out now?
No sir. Troop event only.
@RaymondCarnley a Committee Member (CC) I think went into Legacy and ended the membership in a way we did not know was still there. That is being addressed. BUT unit needs to know everything is in SB+ now, and there is no reason to touch Lecacy other than MBC work and payment logs.
No. He is showing as re-registered, current, and with an expiry date of 12/31/2026. Which is how he appared before. Wouldn’t “Opt Out” prevent him from re-registering in the future?
Was trying to figure out how the scout had an end date on the SB Membership - opt out was the first logical answer

Copy. Do you have a date stamp when that happened?
I have regularly gone into SB legacy to end memberships for scouts that have left or were not renewing (which isn’t the case for this scout). How would I do that in SB+ other than opting them out for renewal.
The membership ended yesterday.
That is done with the Opt Out now. SB+ uses real membership. Legacy Scoutbook has always been fake or through a window memberships. Now the Opt out can be either Immidiate or at end of their term.
We did just reassign our patrols. And did it in SB Legacy (we’ve received no communication that we should not be using it anymore). That might explain why half the roster was dropped from the event. But we didn’t end their membership. Just moved them into a new patrol.
And I THINK it was that Committee Member - it is noted in an odd way.
How do I make the opt-out immediate? Is it obvious?
a patrol move explains it. For this scout they did not use the Legacy Reassign button, and they just ended the membership without realizing it. You can reassign patrols with the SB+ Roster > Edit Patrol > Scout list.

When you click it I think it is an option in SB+

There is a huge pop up something like this

Glad we landed on a solution. I’m sending a note to cease any and all activity in SB legacy going forward. Our council doesn’t upload MBC info that way, anyway so it’s only being used for payment logs…which we do use.
Thank you, very much, for your help!
