I have a scout who recently submitted his Eagle Application. However, when the Advancement Log was generated, there are a few dates missing from like 5-6 years ago. (The requirements were met and rank awarded and marked off.) It looks like the scoutmaster at the time probably just missed those particular items.
When our advancement chair goes in to input the missing dates, they are greyed out and she’s unable to put anything in.
Is there a way to unlock the blocked items? His application has been at a standstill for a while now. No one seems able to fix the issue yet and time is an issue for him
.
Thank you in advance!!!
Typically, our scouts have just manually filled these into the Eagle application PDF after generating it. Are these individual requirements (for rank or MB) or the overall rank/MB itself? If it’s just the requirements, many units don’t track these in SB/SB+, and there was no requirement to do so (e.g. units that only use SB/SB+ for uploading to council).
Where is the hold-up occurring?
It can be written in. What exactly is missing? or messed up?
@CathyPlona - are you referring to dates on requirements for completed approved and awarded ranks ? The only thing that matters is the final completed date.
@CathyPlona What is the Scout’s member ID number? (No names, please)
Also, what seems to be missing for him? Individual requirements do not need to be marked off.
@CathyPlona - if the key 3 pull the advancement record from my.scouting.org all you will see are completed dates for ranks awards and merit badges. No reqs are listed. This is what council and national will see
The completed date is there, but our council says every line has to be filled
The problem is they won’t let him have a BOR until every line has a date
They want it all computer generated.
For whatever reason, council will not let they be
Does it state that somewhere? Our council says it needs to be computer generated….but that’s not able to happen with the greyouts
Is it ok to post the id# here?
@CathyPlona Yes. Please do not post names, though.
If he could write it in, we’d be fine. He has his handbook.
The system generates an editable PDF, which I think can be filled in using Adobe Acrobat reader(?). If the issue is just typewritten vs handwritten, that should solve the problem.
@CathyPlona What is missing specifically?
Are you referring to the Scouts BSA History Report, the Individual Advancement Record (IAR) report, or something else? The Eagle Scout Rank Application form does not include individual requirements.
@CathyPlona - your council or whoever is requiring that report and everything filled in is not following the guide to advancement and is wrong.
@CathyPlona this kind of sounds like some district volunteer talking to you and not the council registrar. If you want we can setup a screenshare to figure out a solution
Yes-it is a commissioner who is saying that is what council expects.
We are attempting this route. Hopefully, it’ll be sufficient.
