I am used to things auto-updating when I view my sons’ NOAA status. I was checking to confirm the requirements for Hiking segment because they have an opportunity for Orienteering Merit Badge coming up. In the new system, it showed them as “started” Sea Scout Apprentice Rank. Under the requirements of the award, it shows that I approved the requirement 1 (b) on 7/1/2025 for one son and 6/27/2025 for the other. Neither of them is a sea scout and I certainly had no intention of approving that requirement. It doesn’t really matter since they are both well past having earned First Class rank, but I see no way to “unapprove” the completion of the sea scout apprentice rank requirement. I don’t love that it looks like I’m some kind of over-eager parent checking random boxes complete.
I am also the advancement chair, so I know I have more permissions than the typical parent, but I don’t think that is what caused this to happen.
Any thoughts on how to undo the approved status or prevent this from happening again? Am I going to find they any time I look at an NOAA segment for my sons it will show me approving their apprentice requirement?
