How do I find the right place to submit a help ticket to merge a few MyScouting Member IDs? I’ve been all over MyScouting, the national website, and driving my Assistant Scout Exec up the wall trying to figure this out because I’m new to the office admin position. Of if it needs to be a call, what’s the best way to navigate?
Thank you, just need to get this volunteer to settle down (and stop making more accounts).
I understand that BSA IDs can’t be merged anymore, only put under management. That said, there might be a way for national staff to do so. I’m just a unit-level volunteer, so I don’t have any particular insight on what can/can’t be done by the national folks. That said, the registrar should have access to a national discussion group (not this one) that is specifically for professional scouters to get assistance.
If the PII all matches, the user can log into my.scouting, and add each of the “extra” BSA Member IDs as “secondary” numbers. They should make sure that the BSA ID under which they have any scouter registrations (i.e. anything other than parent) is set as primary.
After they’re all put together, staff should use the Registrar Tools to look up any children for this scouter. When they look up the children, they want to check children’s “User Relationship” and make sure that children are connected to parent with only the correct BSA member ID number (i.e. the Registered Scouter one).
Ah, that makes some sense; I’m honestly just looking for the right way to reach out to National about this, because we have other issues with this volunteer. I’d love to say that we could have him do all of that for the secondary numbers, but he’s older ex-military with no admin background and the amount of screaming we dealt with the other day is just not worth trying to walk him through this. As for the children, as far as I understand, his kids were never under our Council at all, so they’re not listed in any of his relationships, so we don’t have to worry about that.
Ah well, if I have to call in the morning, it’s not a huge deal.

@CassandraSmith1 If you could post the BSA member ID number for the volunteer, we can take a look.
(No names, please)
