SYT showing up on a youth profile

I have a youth that has an SYT expiration date and a certificate that he did SYT training. He claims he never did it, but that said he should not have this on his screen. I am wondering how we remove it. He is very worried that something will happen and he will get removed of blocked in some way.

I have shared screenshots with all personal information blocked but showing that it shows on a youth profile and the correct date of birth showing that he is listed and registered as a youth.

@CherylHaney Please post the Scout’s member ID number, and someone can take a look.

(No names, please)

Thank you - I was not sure what I could share or not

@CherylHaney My understanding is that there are some situations where youth are required to take the SYT training, such as camp staff.

You should be able to remove it using the Training Manager at my.Scouting.org.

@CherylHaney - i also note that the Date Joined Scouts BSA is not present. That date should be entered at some point by the unit.

Thank you so much. I will go in and enter the date as well as try to remove it in Training Manager

Who would have access to Training Manager? I do not see it on my dashboard. I am the COR

@CherylHaney - it is found here on my.scouting.org

Thank you. That was helpful. When I look here these are the things I see. In one area it does not show he has the training but when I run a report it has his number but fathers email

Looking they have similar emails. and this SYT training is under the dad’s email connected to the childs account. When I see the dads account on SBP he has the same SYT information.

I do not see where I can remove anything.

@CherylHaney - if you go to the roster in my.scouting then check the box to the left of that scout name then in the grey menu click n edit profile and scroll down no doubt the father’s email will be listed. I think you should be able to delete that email address.

@CherylHaney Using the Training Manager in my.Scouting:

  1. Click on “Add/Search”
  2. Click on the “Search Training” tab.
  3. Check the box next to the Scout’s name.
  4. Click “View Training”

Then you should be able to see the training. Then click on the circle next to the training that you want to remove.
