You can always add the appropriate position in scoutbook a lot easier than filling out a new app and getting all the appropriate signatures.
@jacobfetzer, amen to that! Just raising the issue of unintended consequences of such a change. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea, I would just want to make sure it works and doesn’t cause delays or headaches.
Are you referring to the Scouting app or the Den Leader Experience? The Scouting app only looks for a parent connection to a Scout.
@JenniferOlinger, sorry, my bad. I meant the My.Scouting app. I could not use that at all as a Lion Guide, but as a Den Leader, it opened up app options that should have been available to any type of Den Leader. The Council Registrar and I worked on this last year, so my memory isn’t good about the exact restriction, but I remember it was something very pertinent to a Den Leader that I could not access. I have intentionally avoided the DLE as it doesn’t allow the true flexibility required of a “real world” Den.
The Scouting mobile app doesn’t allow leader-level interactions with scouts, AFAIK. All I can see, despite being a unit admin, is the same interface my wife gets.
The only way I’m aware of to get the den leader-level interaction is via Scoutbook (scoutbook.com), either using the DLE (boo!) or “normal” Scoutbook.
