@JenniferOlinger Cool thanks
@DavidLafko Something else I would stress is that families still need to fill out and turn in a BSA youth application to officially transfer their Scout to the new troop. Transferring the Scout from one unit to another in Scoutbook is unofficial, and is mainly for calendar and messaging purposes.
So Iāll ask the ignorant question - what is the harm in leaving connections with former Cub Scout leaders?
That aside, I saw a recommendation in this thread to:
connect a Troop Admin to the Scout with Full Control permissions
So how do I go about doing that? Would I need to invite the Troop Admin into my Pack and give them admin rights there too? Are we, the Pack Admin, supposed to know who the Troop Admin is?
Thanks
Only if you are concerned they will change advancement on the scout when they shouldnāt. (I donāt think theyād be able to approve it anyway)
You talk to someone in the troop to find out who usually handles the scoutbook stuff. Then, go to the scoutās page > scoutās connections > add connection. Type that personās name or email address in the search bar.
Due to privacy and advancement reasons, there is no longer a need for Cub Scout leaders to have a connection to the Scout once the Scout has left the unit. But if it turns out that there is a need, the parents or a leader in the troop can always reconnect them.
