I have a scout who moved to another state and I’m trying to assist the family with transferring the Scout to the new Troop online. The new unit has online applications turned on, but yet when the family searches for the unit in the “My Registrations” transfer process, the new unit is not listed. Are out of state transfers not supported? The new unit only suggested a paper application, which I know comes with risk of 1) new ID being created 2) loss of Cub/Troop advancement history. Any advice is appreciated, especially with getting advancement history to transfer as well. Thank you!
@KristenRibe - beascout.org is the method for out of state and since it is different council a new member id will be created
Thank you for this - I didn’t realize he automatically gets a new ID. I see the “youth is a current/former scout” check box on the BeAScout application. Do you know if his advancement history will transfer when that is populated? Or does that not transfer between councils?
@KristenRibe - as long as the current registered info matches it should transfer. Every council has its own pool of member id numbers
