Please consider adding permission for the troop advancement coordinator to assign a merit badge counselor for scouts starting a new merit badge. Presently this adult role does not have permission for this task.
Are you connected to the Scouts with Full Control permissions?
looks like I have “view profile” permission but that does not make sense since I am able to enter and approve advancement for all scouts
I do not understand that either. But ask a Troop Admin to connect you to all Scouts with Full Control or to make you a Troop Admin. After that, you should be able to connect Scouts to MBCs.
