Trying to update future calendar series error

I can’t edit a committee meeting event to update invitees. I keep getting the error :user(s) not found for the given userid(s) - userid(s) and it lists a string of userid numbers.

I can’t add or remove users as I get this error every time I attempt to save the event.

I finally deleted the series and am creating a new one, but one of my adults who I need to invite isn’t showing up. I verified they are linked to their child and have previously logged in.

For some reason when it created the new series it added all the adults even though I had selected only leaders. I can’t edit this one now. I’m getting the same error!

Event ID is 6136257

@Chris.Peterson - is this for multiple units

No. Just our Cub Scout Pack.

I was looking at the parent who I’m trying to add to this meeting event and noticed this on the old scoutbook site in his profile.

What does that mean? It shows he’s connected to his Scout. He doesn’t show up in the new Scoutbook to add to any meetings.

What’s their bsa member number (no names)?

For the parent I was trying to add, the Member ID in Scoutbook Plus is blank.

He has applied to be a leader in the Pack and apparently set up a second account, which I connected to his Scout’s account.

I was able to add that user to the calendar entry, but I still cannot save the calendar event.

So, what’s the other account bsa member number?

His BSA ID is 141307940

@Chris.Peterson This user had a duplicate Scoutbook account issue. This should be fixed.

@Chris.Peterson - i am suspecting that if you search for the other scoutbook id numbers listed in the error they will also have issues

Ok so how does that help me with my calendar entries and getting them fixed?

@Chris.Peterson - i thought it may be a path to get rind of the error by fixing the user accounts.

Is there an easy way to find these numbers? Aside from checking every person’s profile?

I did a roster report for all adults and a number don’t have BSA IDs. Perhaps this is the issue? Looks like 7 don’t have an ID showing. The error message I get only shows 6. Not sure how to correlate or fix this.

After investigating further, each of these adults were manually added to their Scout’s account and invited, but it appears they haven’t registered/signed in yet. I’ll contact them and see if that helps. Is there a better way to add a parent than through the legacy Scoutbook invite interface?

@Chris.Peterson I think the reason you are getting the error is because they are missing a BSA member ID number. Some of these parents did have a BSA member ID number and a second Scoutbook account. I was able to fix those.

In my opinion, it usually works best to ask the parent to create an account at my.Scouting using their full legal name, not a nickname. After they create their my.Scouting account, they should log in to Scoutbook (legacy) with the same username (login) and password. Then they should go to:

Administration → My Account → My Connections

Between “My Connections” and the red buttons they should see this text:

“If you are a parent/guardian and do not see your Scout listed below Connect to your Scout as Parent/Guardian.

They should click on the red text to “Connect to your Scout as Parent/Guardian.” They will need to know their child’s BSA member ID number in order to connect this way.

In all the years of using Scoutbook, and I’ve been using it well before the BSA bought it, we’ve never had to make parents go through such a convoluted way to connect to their Scout and I think this needs to be addressed. It shouldn’t be that difficult. I’ve always invited them via Scoutbook and it worked. I haven’t seen this issue with past parents so I’m guessing it’s a new issue that has been introduced with the changes to Scoutbook Plus.

I really need this fixed. I tried deleting and recreating the event and even though I deselect all and then select all leaders, it keeps adding all adults. And then I can’t edit the series afterwards because of this error!

What are the details on the event, such as date, time, and name? That’s easier for the developers than the event number.
