Unable to assign Merit Badge Counselor

The leader (id=141691342) is a committee member and has granted all permissions before migration. I just checked all boxes again to ensure her permissions are recorded. I will check it is recorded correctly in 24hrs.

Please advise if there is anything, I should do to support her duty. Thank you.

There might be an API error happening - that is being investigated.

We are having similar permission issues except ours is a Key3 that now can’t assign an MBC. When I look at his ASM permissions everything is grayed out and already checked. Just adding this detail as maybe all are related after migration??

ASM is not a Key 3. Key 3 is SM, CC and COR.

Do you mean that they are a Key 3 Delegate (functional role assigned in my.scouting), or are you referring to the classic Scoutbook Troop Admin role? The classic Scoutbook roles are irrelevant at this stage, as all permissions have been changed as follows:

A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.

ETA: I just tested as an ASM who is a Key 3 Delegate in my.scouting. I was able to add and remove an MBC to a scout in our troop using SB+.

The ASM is a key 3 delegate.

Hrm. How long ago was the Key 3 Delegate status assigned? I know it takes some time to “hit” after being assigned (or at least it used to).

Another possible avenue if you need them ASM to have access before the SUAC folks can look into the issue would be to remove and reapply the Key 3 Delegate status. Mine migrated over fine, but it’s possible something happened for your ASM’s account during migration.

ETA: Also, if you provide the ASM’s Member ID (no names, please!) the SUAC may be able to take a look at the account and let you know if something is irregular. I should have thought to mention that earlier, but got lost in who had (and hadn’t) mentioned the Member ID for their scouter having problems. :^)

Charlie. Yeah. I was reading up on the new tools a bit and was thinking to remove and reapply some permissions and the Key3. this particular Key3 status was applied 4 years ago? and has been working ok I will work on it a bit. I just saw this post and was thinking my feedback might help the debug. thx

Yeah, it’s definitely weird if there’s a difference between what I’m seeing as an ASM with longstanding Key 3 Delegate status and what your ASM is seeing.

The SUAC won’t be able to assist, though, without a Member ID to look into. So, if you aren’t able to resolve the issue, you’ll need to post the Member ID (but the SUAC doesn’t need a name).

It’s also generally more helpful if the impacted scouter is posting here, since the SUAC can ask more direct questions. The obvious one I should have asked was “Are you sure the ASM has their ASM/Key 3 Delegate role selected in the drop-down in the top right corner, or are they using the “parent” role?”

Hi Donovan, the adult leader is still unable to assign MBC today 4/26 even I have authorized her as shown above. Is a ticket opened? Thanks.

@LaihungNg that is part of a known ticket - watch the change log for updates
