Unable to assign new scout in scoutbook

I recently accepted and completed on online application for a cub scout in the my.Scouting.org membership manager. Then after a day, the scout appears in Scoutbook to be assigned to a den.

However this time, the scout is appearing in the “Scout no in Den” (as usual) BUT when I click on the scout to begin the assignment, Scoutbook says:

You currently are not connected to this Scout.
Contact the Scout’s parent, guardian, or leaders if you want to connect.
Scoutbook has hidden the Scout’s photo and last name to protect their identity.

This makes it impossible to assign the scout (nor can any of my other pack admins) – this is the first time I have ever seen this happen. I am a Pack admin so I have always had permissions to assign scouts in the past.

How do I correct this?

@RichardBosley go to unit page > click roster > click your name > click your admin position > click Update and nothing else > this should fix it
