I have been asked by the Greater Alabama council to register as an at-large member and take training on my.scouting.org in order to serve as a volunteer at one of our local camps. I had an existing my.scouting.org account which I was able to re-activate, but for some reason, when I go to “Manage Member ID”, my Council is listed as “Golden Gate Area 023” even though I’ve never been a member of that council. My member ID is listed as 110101293. I tried changing the council to “Greater Alabama Council 001” but I have to fill in a Member ID before it will allow me to hit the “Add” button. I tried filling in the same Member ID (110101293) and then hitting “Add” but it said “Failed to add Member ID. User not found.” This leads me to believe that I need a new member ID for the Greater Alabama Council. I called my council office and they said that to get a member ID I need to register online. So I seem to be in a Catch-22. Can someone tell me how to successfully change my council? I have tried this on both the Mac Safari desktop browser and the iPhone app. Thank you!!!
