I have made connections many times in the past, but am unable to add a counselor for some reason.
There are quite a number of current threads about being unable to connect merit badge counselors. The connection system isn’t working properly (in general) at the moment.
Some folks have had luck initiating the connection from the MBC side, as described in this post: Unable to connect Scout with MB Counselor - #22 by JenniferOlinger
